The Da Vinci Code~Fact or Fiction?

Saw it, loved it but I don't think I would if I hadn't read the book. My brother-in-law hadn't read the book and said there wasn't enough action.
Bodies come and go but spirits go forever.

:) Yeah, I think having read the booked helped me enjoy the movie much more. Knowing all that extra detail and back story helps explain a lot of what's happening on screen. Not in a crippling way, more in a "Director's Cut" kinda way.

With all the hype of the upcoming movie, I would like to know what are your thoughts/opinions about the movie/book.

Is the book Dan Brown wrote, fact or fiction?

It is about as much fact as the movie dogma (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0120655/)

It is just Fiction and good fiction at that.

I liked the book and movie. :bigok: :bigok:

I'm looking forward to the DVD. This is one that I will be able to just watch with the commentray. I also hope the "special features" will show how they made it and have lots of deleated scenes (and no, "Opie was so great to work for" hype. We know he's a good director and Hanks is a nice guy etc, etc...)

i just saw the movie too and like some here, i don't see what the big deal is. imo those postestors are wasting their time and energy on something they shouldn't be. they should go protest something useful like the high price of gas or something. i never read the book and went in blind but i was still able to enjoy it . i can't believe that they actually wanted a disclaimer at the begining of the move. the movie was just that, a movie and never presented itself as anything else.

Do you think Jesus married Mary Magdalene and had children? Is it really "her" sitting next to Jesus in the painting of The Last Supper?

I could go on and on but would really love to hear what ya'll have to say. Then I will add my 2 cents ;)

Along same lines you can ask if Bible / Koran / Tora is fact or fiction.
Or, all of these are just books, so well written that people to this day contemplate if they're fact or fiction

Yeah, the protesters probably didn't realize that their presence had the opposite effect. (thereby bringing more people in to see what all of the hubub was about.) Ron Howard must love all of the free publicity! I heard that the movie exceeded sales projections worldwide.

I honestly don't care. I was not planning on seeing it anyway. LOL BTW...it's only ever been represented as a work of fiction with some slight historical facts thrown in.
