Is Cold Stone Creamery saying you have to be under 18 to be eligible for free birthday ice cream? They don't say that on the sign-up page, but...

On an unrelated issue... my friend has always thought of their names as slightly scary... especially considering that he's almost 82. :(

negative, just saying under 18 cannot sign up for sweeps
 
Cold stone... cold treatment

Hopefully those of you who try in your area are treated better than my husband when trying to redeem the free ice cream. His birthday was on February 4th. He didn't get the e-mail until the evening so he took it in on the 5th. The lady said "I don't think this is legit. It is supposed to have your name and birthdate on it. I need to see some ID too." So my husband showed her his ID showing his birthday was the previous day and she still didn't believe he got it from the birthday club e-mail. She then made him go and PROVE it by going to the back of the store and getting on the computer and going to his e-mail. Fortunately he had kept the e-mail (which is odd b/c he never keeps anything). Then she was like, OK, go get your ice cream. She didn't apologize or anything and she was the OWNER of the franchise!!!

I hope ya'll are treated better when you try. But, make sure to keep your email just in case!!!
 
I actually got my e-mail from them like a week after my birthday but it expired a few weeks after that. I was bummed because they are building one near my house and I thought that it was open already but it wasn't. The nearest one wasn't worth driving all that way to get so I didn't get one... :(
 
My birthday was Feb. 17 and I still haven't gotten an email for my free ice cream! :eek:
 
Got my coupon not too long ago, and my g/f did too. Went there tonight just before they closed and they took the coupons with no problem. And although you can't get a waffle cone/cup with the ice cream, you CAN make your own creation - unlike the fine print where it says you have to pick only a pre-made creation. My g/f made her own, while I picked the traditional birthday flavor - Birthday Cake Remix. OMG it's so good, it really tastes like cake batter...amazing stuff! Oh and they do have to check your ID's to verify your birthday. I <3 Cold Stone...thanks for the post!!!
